First vet appointment. Rough play has led to a scratched eye, which isn't healing on its own. I am going to ask the vet for a large bottle of whatever drops are needed because the way these two cats play, this will be a frequent occurrence. Flying tackles, all four paws to the opponent's head, neck bites, rolling wrestling moves, flips, chasing and sneak attacks are the order of the day. But since they're only playing there are no growls or hisses, it's silent except for the thudding of kitty bodies on the carpet and paws thwacking. I'm glad I got two that are pretty evenly matched and are both playful. A smaller serious kitty matched with either of these two would be a recipe for a small angry ball of rage and some serious cat fighting.

Are they snoozing from too much turkey? My cats got some, the livers and hearts which Cuddles and Spot ate, no one else wanted any, then they got turkey today, had their fill

I guess I should add that Rusty's name was "Turkey Tom" on Petfinder, and his description said that "Turkey Tom would be really grateful to get a new home in time for Thanksgiving." He got one, and had turkey, but I did change his name.

hehehe that reminds me of changing Norl's name from Nine.. only to find out he's part deaf
He's on the landing snoozing, I walked up, sat down on the 2nd of the 3 steps up to the landing, he didn't move, stuck my face up close to his, still didn't move so I blew a light puff of air on him, got a paw in my eye (but my glasses are on) so it was ok
My cats didn't eat much turkey after all.. wonder what's up this year
edit: Norl just jumped up, he smells all good from the Febreze I sprayed on the stairs since I was out of carpet fresh

my kitties only got a little turkey but today since my kids and I are sick of it (well two of us, one kid has turned veggie this year) so they will get the leftover turkey today and tomorrow.
I can't give it all to them because my tomkitty will gobble it all too fast (heh heh gobble, typed that before I realized) and make himself sick. He loves it way too much.

Kitty starting to spray.
As punishment, we have our first overnight exile to the laundry room. The other cat is lying outside the laundry room door to be near him.
They have an appointment to be fixed in a few days, that should help.

Dried spray on wood.. I just use a mild bleach water solution to clean it off
It won't help. They'll spray til it's marked even after neutering, just follow them around with febreze
Seriously, let em mark it and spray it, they'll stop after a bit, just follow your nose to all the markings. I gave up on trying to make them quit, it's like trying to keep them off the furniture, counter, shelves, whatever, they'll jump up as soon as you're gone or not looking.
Luckily they're boys, my girls are waaaaaaaaaaay worse at marking than boys

Ever since Slate was vaccinated when he went to the vet for the eye scratch, he's been lying around and not playing much. The one that's peeing (Rusty) seems frustrated that the other cat won't play with him any more, and is marking all cubby hole type areas in the house. Slate doesn't seem to care and has focused on taking over the people in the house, being all lovey dovey, which upsets Rusty even more.
They both go to the vet to get fixed in a couple of days, and Rusty will get his vaccines, so we'll re-examine all the issues as they recover. Maybe when they both feel awful they'll start feeling like bros again. :/

It'll take them a good month or 2 to really settle in
I didn't get Zif neutered til he was a year old, wanted to give him some extra time with them hormones to compete with the bigger cats

Update: Slate decided to start playing with Rusty again and all peeing in corners instantly stopped. Rusty seems to get his feelings hurt when Slate ignores/ refuses to play with him.
Tomorrow they both get de-balled. Poor guys!

One of my cats loudly sucks his paw pads when he's really comfy and purring. He likes to tuck his head under your chin, wedge his paw against you and suck suck suck, so it's really loud and seems kind of like a vampire cat. He doesn't hurt his paw pads because he switches which ones he sucks, but it can drown out the TV if you're trying to watch. When he had to go without a meal before his neutering surgery, he started frantically trying to nurse from me, Barry and the other cat. He tried sucking from my scalp, from my tummy, from Barry's tummy and the other cat's tummy. So even though he's a big hefty cat the first thing he thinks about if he skips a meal is nursing. His nickname is the cannonball kitten, because he's so big and hefty and still tries to nurse. The other cat must be made of rubber. You can put him in any position and he'll stay that way. He drapes his body between pillows and sleeps with his butt higher than his head. You can pick him up when he's sleeping and he won't move... he's limp a s a rag and flops like a ragdoll. He even wakes up and starts purring but doesn't open his eyes and lies limp like a rubber cat. You can put him anywhere when he's in rubber cat mode and he'll stay there and purr.

In about a year that'll slow down a bit once he realizes he has a home permanent. I haven't had a cat like that since I was a kid
Norl is quite affectionate but doesn't like to be held, just lap time

Wow. glad you didn't have an accident, neckipoo!
Deer are so dumb about the road sometimes. Living in a slow news state, we hear about every accident on the Interstate, and many of them have to do with drivers swerving to avoid deer. Up north it's worse where it's moose and elk. That's far more likely to kill you if you hit one, with the deer it's usually the deer that ends up dead although now and then it's the people too.

I usually stop 20-30' away until they move, this time I was jamming on the brakes as they were moving off the road. There was no place to swerve unless I wanted to ditch but I had room to stop.
Maybe this will teach those deer to move faster Although I've seen them try to scramble on pavement, it's not pretty, like a cat on linoleum

We had a deer stumble on the concrete and fall against our car after we managed to stop in time. He just got up and scrambled away. The most nerve wracking are the fawns that do stupid moves right in front of you in order to follow the mom that got out of the way in time. Following mom is more important than looking out to see if something's coming, apparently.

On the right side was a ditch and they were moving left, so I just jammed on the brakes, sent my groceries from the seat to the floorboard Luckily the milk and nog jugs didn't break

I almost murdered another deer today coming back from wally in broad daylight! It ran across a yard and right in front of me, but I saw it coming and had time to slow down. These deer have no respect
