back from ComicCon

I'm back from San Diego ComicCon, had a great time. I'm home for four days and then road trip part two begins, with stops for Worldcon in Denver and Gencon in Indianapolis. I'm kinda tired already.

but are you making more money?

Well, I held steady at ComicCon . Considering the economic jitters I'll settle for holding steady. It's a lot of money though, my top con for the last three years running.

You can't display at Gencon if you don't go so since I am going to Worldcon, we just decided to keep going and try Gencon Indy for the first time. If combined they equal another ComicCon dollar wise, then I'll consider it a happy thing.

I didn't see you on FNC.. they showed the con.. mostly just the characters

One of these days I'll make it to another con, hell its only about 7 years since the last one. It seems everytime I have the money or time to do it, something gets in the way, oh well.

It's a lot bigger now, Slop. They sold out completely a couple of weeks in advance. Attendance is capped at 125,000. It's become a montster!

Its crazy, I know the last time I was there they had to add another section to the Convention Center and I suspect some day soon they will have to start building onto the water or into the water, lol

Glad you are doing well MoD! Travel really can make on tired in a hurry.

I haven't been to a con in a long while either and I really miss it!

Funny, what got me thinking about how much I miss it is I happened to be flipping channels and Galaxy Quest was on - watched the whole thing and it reminded me of how fun conventions are.


BTW that is one of my all time favorite movies. Every time I see it I laugh so hard at it and I never seem to get tired of it, heh.

There is talk of expanding the convention center again to accommodate the con, Slop.

I saw Galaxyquest once at Baycon's "dive in movies" projected on the hotel's outer wall. You could float in the pool and watch or sit in a deck chair around the pool.

oh cool! Movies and relaxing in the pool - how fun Perfect choice of movie for a con too, heh.

I'm postng from Indianapolis, I'm here for Gencon. I went to Denver on the way for Worldcon. I should be home in 10 more days.
